About New Roof Services

We carry out all roof repairs and install new roofs.  We replace broken and missing roof tiles, however, if there are many tiles that require replacing it may be more cost effective to install a new roof.  We also replace the old membrane  with a new breathable membrane and replace old damaged battens with new treated battens.

Roof inspections - if you’re unsure of the condition of your roof, we’ll provide a thorough survey detailing any maintenance work needed.

New Roof Process

If the roof is in a bad state and needs a complete new roof we firstly remove the old roof tiles, old worn roof membrane and old wooden battens. Sometimes fascias, soffits and gutters also need replacing, this we discuss and undertake at the clients request. Dry verge and dry ridge systems can also be installed, again at the clients request, otherwise the mortar based verges and bedding of the ridge systems will be incorporated.

Once the roof has been stripped back we can then install a new breathable roof membrane.

New wooden, treated battens are added (for the roof tiles to be attached to).

New roof tiles are installed, there are choices of the type of roof tiles available.

It is possible for part of the roof to be repaired, if the roof itself is in a reasonable condition.

Fascias, soffits and guttering can be replaced at the same time as installing a new roof. The new upvc materials are much more cost effective, no maintenance and provide better protection for your roof and keeping it dry.

New lead flashing may be required around chimney stacks and roofs that have valleys.

You may want to think about upgrading the verges and the ridges to the new dry roofing systems which have many advantages over the old mortar based systems.
